Title: Implementation of Sullivans Creek Catchment Management Plan
Program: Murray-Darling 2001
Description: This project will implement the first stages of the Sullivans Creek Catchment Management Plan (SCCMP). This project will implement plans to retro-fit two constructed demonstration urban wetlands adjacent to the tributary draining the O'Connor sub-catchment in the ACT. The wetlands will be located adjacent to David Street and Banksia Street in O'Connor. This project will also implement plans to break-out 250 metres of the sides of the concrete channel of the tributary and plant grasses and shrubs to stabilise the channel. DUS and ANU are partners on the project. $165,000 of cash funds have been sourced by Sullivans Creek Catchment Group from the corporate sector, to implement the project. The other on-ground component in the project is the rehabilitation of a 10 hectare saline area in Crace Nature Reserve, Lyneham. Lyneham High School is a partner in this project. Planning for future on-ground work and consultation/education strategies will also be implemented.

Sullivans Creek Catchment Regeneration
Program: National Landcare Program
Description: The main aim of the project is to improve land and water quality within the Sullivans Creek catchment through increasing involvement and coordination with the community and stakeholders of the area. The major steps involved will include: Year 1: Consultation with various stakeholders in the catchment to formulate a plan of action. Year 1: Establishment of pilot works to tackle environmental hot spots within the catchment.
