PROJECTS
Title: Winchendonvale Catchment Plan Priorities
Program: National Landcare Program
Description: Our main objectives in our catchment are to address dry land salinity, establishment of perennial pastures, soil acidity, soil erosion, native vegetation management and decline. Our project would aim to correct and reverse these trends and continue our pasture establishment programs.
Funding (1998/1999) $70,044; (1999/2000) $76,206; (2000/2001) $92,079; (2001/2002) $28,600; Total Australian Government Funding $266,929
Title: Winchendonvale Remnant Vegetation Enhancement and Perennial Pasture Establishment
Program: NRM
Description: The project will involve fencing out and revegetating (through regeneration and new plantings) 22.5 ha of native vegetation remnants on 5 properties and the sowing down of 282 ha of new perennial pasture on 6 properties. 4 km of fencing will be erected to protect the remnants and 1500 trees and understorey planted to supplement natural regeneration. The project will increase the area of protected native vegetation and the area of perennial pasture in our catchment - both seen as high priorities in addressing the issues of biodiversity and dryland salinity in our catchment management plan.
Funding: (2002/2003) $10,692
