PROJECTS

Title: Boggy Creek Kockibitoo Linking Remnant Vegetation
Program: Bushcare
Description: The project aims to improve water quality in Boggy Creek and improve biodiversity in an area where there is little existing remnant vegetation. These aims will be achieved by fencing off 6 kms of Boggy Creek (40 ha), 20 ha of remnant vegetation and planting and establishing 10,000 trees and shrubs and 25 km of direct seeding in connecting corridors. This project will also build on previous work carried out by Coolamon & Ganmain Landcare groups on the upper reaches of Boggy Creek and begins another phase in the Matong and District Landcare Groups creek rehabilitation strategy. An added benefit of this project will be increased community awareness of biodiversity and water quality issues as the project sites are in an area where little revegetation work has occured to date.
